In 1989 Michael A. Vlasic founded MAVD in connection with his family’s business, Vlasic Investments, LLC. Since the 1930s, the Vlasic family has been an active investor and operator of businesses in Southeast Michigan, most notably Vlasic Foods which was sold to Campbell Soup Company in 1978. MAVD is headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Since its founding, MAVD has actively acquired and developed projects representing over 3,000,000 square feet of commercial/office space, 1,000 acres of land, at a total value of over $500 million. MAVD currently manages a portfolio consisting of over 1,000,000 square feet of office space and more than three hundred acres of development land.
MAVD’s real estate activities were concentrated in Southeast Michigan until early 2006 when MAVD opened a Colorado subsidiary, MAVD West, LLC, in Denver, Colorado. From this western base of operations, MAVD has successfully acquired and developed real estate assets along the Colorado Front Range. Current holdings include assets in Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins. Additional assets are actively being pursued.
Geographic expansion into Colorado was accompanied by capital and service diversification. MAVD maintains a strong capital connection with Vlasic Investments, providing a unique alignment of interests with other private and institutional capital partners. A strong team of skilled and experienced in-house professionals provides an intelligent and efficient operational base – from asset acquisition to disposition, and including development services, asset management, and property management.
Built on the solid foundation of the Vlasic family, MAVD has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to creating and maintaining high-quality, long-term assets and relationships that last generations.
